Dr. Ashley Dempster
Veterinarian
Dr Ashley Dempster has been a vet in the local area since 2014. She started the Local Vet with the idea to provide a place the community can come to, where their animals feel comfortable and they feel welcome. She will always strive to provide the best possible solution for all and any issues your pet may have. All while trying to limit any stress on your fur kids.
She has a passion for complex medical cases and loves working with clients to find the best management for tricky skin, digestive and behavioural issues.
With a firm belief in work-life balance; outside of work she can be found riding her horses in the local forests, at the beach or supporting local riding clubs.
Anna
Practice Manager/Head Nurse
Anna is our outstanding practice manager and head nurse, bringing over 20 years of dedicated experience in the local veterinary field.
Beyond the clinic, she enjoys tending to her garden and caring for her livestock.
At the clinic, Anna’s favorite role is staying connected with our clients and supporting long-term cases.
Petra
Veterinary Nurse
Petra is one of our dedicated nurses, bringing extensive experience to our team. She has dedicated much of her career to working in clinics on the Hibiscus Coast and joined us in 2024.
In her free time, Petra enjoys horse riding and spending quality time with her family. She also loves tending to her garden and observing the local wildlife.
Petra’s favorite aspect of veterinary nursing is surgery and looking after patients.
Freya
Veterinary Nurse
Freya started her nursing journey at the clinic as a student, training alongside our team. She graduated with a diploma in veterinary nursing in 2024 and has since become a valued member of our staff.
Outside the clinic, Freya loves spending time with her parrot’s and her bearded dragon Kevin.
At the clinic, Freya’s favorite part of the job is assisting with procedures and working directly with patients.
